Nutrition challenge with Xcel Fitness – Fitness

I know you are all probably sick of me talking about my move to Salt Lake City, but here’s the thing… it’s like a completely different world than what I am used to. Remember that I lived in Idaho for 18 years prior. So, with that being said, I’ve learned something new about living in a big city these last few months. Although I have an incredible gym at my fingertips. A gym that doesn’t even exist in Idaho…it’s been more difficult than ever to keep weight off. Can you guess why? YEP…the DANG food! So many amazing food options! It kills me!! So, with that being said… my gym has put together a 6 week nutrition challenge that I am so thrilled to participate in. I don’t know about you, but nutrition is always and will always been the hardest part about staying in shape for me. So, follow along with me as I embark on this journey! I will keep tabs of my nutrition and write down everything I eat and document it on the blog every week!! I will be sticking to a fairly strict Paleo diet. To find more information about that diet check out this blog post! IMG_9286Join along with me as I participate!!

I am starting tomorrow!

Let’s do this!

XOXO

I just discovered your blog and I just have to tell you how much I love it. You are truly amazing. I just started cross fit today and I’m in love. My legs feel like tree trunks and I can barely go down my basement stairs to do laundry.

I’m not new to fitness but new to doing it consistently. The nutrition is what I’m confused on. I live in a small town in Pennsylvania. There isn’t anyone who specializes in nutrition and fitness here. I work in a hospital and our nutritionist is more geared to diabetes and gestational diabetes. When i asked her about macros she had no idea what i was talking about. I want to lose fat and gain muscle. So I’m scared of eating too much and not eating enough to reach my goals. I want to lean out and gain muscle. And I want to be strong!

So I am going to eat clean and my workouts will be amazing! Modified when needed. Thrusters killed me today. My legs were shaking. And I had to modify. My diet consist of lean meats, veggies, and my carbs are pinto beans. Raw that I cooked in the crock pot on high for 12 hours in my own homemade vegetable stock. On Saturdays, I will have a multigrain English muffin. But I’m not sure if I should do that. Processed foods scare me and I try to stay away from them. Right now paleo scares me. There are people who gain weight on it. So I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing. And look into the zone. I just wish there was a fitness nutritionist where I live. I want to be able to tell someone my goals and have them tell me what to eat to reach those goals.

Ok, I’m so sorry to go on as long as I have. And I thank you for listening. I pray to God and Jesus to help me all the time so i just need to have faith.
