diy6 About a month ago, I was approached by Cricut to be apart of their Cricut Design Space Star competition! Pretty much it’s a competition amongst a bunch of DIY bloggers seeing what fun and creative things we can create each month with our Cricut Explorer! This month the challenge theme was FASHION/GEAR. Dudes, I was alll over this one!diyleopardLet’s face it, none of us like working out in our old city softball t-shirt from when we were 16 and Walmart yoga pants…BUT…

we also don’t have an endless ‘fitness clothing money tree’ in our backyard. Wouldn’t that be so sweet?

The struggle to find fun, stylish, hip, trendy, cute, makeyoufeelsogood fitness clothes for a great price is real, people!

Ain’t nobody got the money to drop 100 dolla dolla bills on a pair of Nike leopard leggings…EVEN IF we wish we could.

Well girls, and guys (if leopard leggings is your thing) I have the SOLUTION FOR YOU!!!

Run and grab your Walmart leggings from your dresser drawer and get ready to cut, paste, iron, and peel. It’s that easy!

a pair of leggings

gold sparkly iron-on vinyl

iron and ironing board

Screen Shot 2014-08-17 at 11.04.36 AMThe photos above show what image I used to create my leopard look. All I did was type in the word ‘LEOPARD’ in the search tab while creating a project on my Cricut design account and that image appeared! For free. Like a really good food sample at Trader Joes!

Make sure to load the machine with the SHINY SIDE DOWN! and change your dial to the IRON ON setting.

After the Cricut gets done doing it’s thang, peel the excess vinyl away from the plastic covering.IMG_5813I then cut all the leopard pieces into different shapes and sizes. I wanted the design to slowly disappear up the leg.

diyleggingsSet your iron to cotton/linen aka the hottest setting there is and make sure NO STEAM is used. Then use a paper towel to protect the plastic and press down for 30 seconds. Make sure to lift and press, do not glide across the vinyl. After doing the top sections for 30 seconds, flip the leggings over and press the other side for 30 more seconds. Once cooled, peel the plastic covering away from the vinyl.

diy2  AND in less than an hour, you’ve got yourself an outfit for your next rap video! #baller diy4Use the same technique for the top as you did with your leggings. Choose the phrase and font you want and iron it where ever your heart desires! I also put a little leopard vinyl on the corner of the tee to cover the logo!
